Brother to the sun/ Mother to the stars.
One of the most elusive things one could try, try and try again, yet fail at it after several attempts is the feat of capturing the moon on their phone camera. Well, guilty, I've tried it too. And, perhaps, so have you?
On a totally different tangent - time and space - there is George Harrison who spots the moon emerging at the horizon while he's on a holiday at Maui, and maybe he is reminded of the times he announced the arrival of the sun. Almost 10 years after "Here comes the sun", George Harrison writes a sequel. Known as the last song of the Beatles from the Abbey Road Sessions before the band decided to call it a day, "Here comes the sun" has been rated as the most streamed song (as of 2021 on Spotify), globally.
That said, "Here comes the moon" was featured first in George Harrison's self titled album. The mention of the moon in a orbiting way and the sublime guitar and bass as well almost hints at gently nudging you to recline, putting your feet up and letting down your hair.
Also the lyrics:
"God's gift I see that's moving up there into the night. Though dark, the mirror in the sky reflects us our light.”
“Looks like a brother to the sun. Or, mother to the stars at night."
Childlike poetry or simple profundity? Well, that's up to you to decide. One other opinion is that this is amongst the most underrated songs of George. Or, maybe, it needed a sun to shine its light to make this moon get its due attention. Either way, a Beatlesque composition that goes best with a moon at any phase over the head, a drink in one hand and the other hand, tucked between your head and the surface you're reclining on.
