Thank you for taking the time to read, Shwetha. In a way, this is my philosophy. I’m sure you’ll have your own as well. In short, to each their own. :)
I totally relate to this. Perhaps, I feel at times, that I still belong to that time and age with the music so comforting. Thanks for reading, Gopal :)
Really enjoyed that Amit! Especially the ‘would it help?’ clips—definitely time to rewatch that. Mark Rylance is always exceptional. Right, off for another cup of tea, the rest of the world can wait.
"...the song seems like it’s ending at 4:25 but that very next second it continues with the mellow riffs and rhythm. It’s as though Mark Knopfler* is giving you your space to sit back, listen and decide for yourself with the extended outro."
It's beautiful to see such details in compositions :)
Reminded me of the weird patterns on oddities one finds in the chapter intros ans titles in books.
I agree, Amit. One needs to take time out to indulge in art whenever possible. I’m, yet to read Gowri’s post. Will check that out for sure. Thanks for sharing. And leaving your comment.
Love all the recommendations here! Modern family is one of my favourite shows too and I love Phil Dunphy’s playful energy. And great song too. I think its fair to say that there are many reasons for overwhelm and anxiety today, we do seem to be living in unprecedented times. But each day, I realise more and more that believing it’s all going to ok is probably the only way forward.
Hadn't heard of Why Worry toll today. Thanks for sharing, AC.
And delighted to see a Modern Family reference on your piece as well! 😀
:)
:)
I loved the take. Philosophy , looked at , in a different way.

Being in the present is something that is very important but something that we all miss out on. Lovely article!
Thank you, Reema for stopping by :)
I love that song. Dire Straits BIA album has been my constant companion while navigating this turbulent year.

Love this. I agree with the philosophy, center your actions to something - bring in the mindfulness, everything else is transient.
Indeed. World races on, we need realize this and keep ourselves alive in the stillness. Thank you for stopping by, Ritika.

So true. Indulge in your cuppa. I’ve watched that movie so many times just for the stoic pragmatism of Mark Rylance’s character.

I LOVE that Modern Family scene. Great writing as always!

Thank you so much, Smriti for taking the time to read. We love Modern Family too.
And yes, it's all going to be okay.
In case you haven't yet, do kindly watch Train Dreams on Netflix. It's based on a Book by Denis Johnson, however I'm yet to read the book.
If you have a body, where is the spirit?
If you're spirit, what is the body?
This is not our problem to worry about.
Both are both. Corn is corn grain and cornstalk.
The divine butcher cuts us a piece from the thigh,
and a piece from the neck.
Invisible, visible, the world
does not work without both.
If you throw dust at someone's head,
nothing will happen.
If you throw water, nothing.
But combine them into a lump.
That marriage
of water and dirt cracks open the head,
and afterward there are other marriages.
