there are those who trot.
then there are those who stomp.
some dash, while the others march.
one step and another step,
mostly, in that sequence.
the pace varies,
since it's not a race.
the pawns shaped
in different molds.
their moves dissimilar yet
the end - converges,
one the same.
to move and move on
till you drop;
perhaps, that's the way
one remains in the game.
